RPI has provided standby, training, and response services for NRDAs of oil and hazardous material spills and groundings for Federal and State Natural Resource Trustees since 1986. RPI co-authored two guidance documents prepared by NOAA to guide the implementation of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA 90) NRDA regulations: Preassessment Phase and Injury Assessment. When a spill occurs, RPI is called upon to provide technical support in risk assessment, documentation of exposure, and injury qualification of natural resources and lost services. RPI is involved in all aspects of injury quantification, restoration scaling, case management, and litigation support tasks. RPI has worked on many NRDA cases, including:
