Coastal Geologist/Sedimentologist

Research Planning, Inc.

Research Planning, Inc. (RPI) has an opening in our Columbia, SC office for a coastal geologist/sedimentologist. Qualifications include M.S. in coastal sediments or geomorphology. You must have strong field skills as well as knowledge of GIS applications. Working knowledge of sediment transport modeling tools would be great.

RPI is acknowledged as a specialized group of scientists who excel at multi-disciplinary studies dealing with coastal and marine resources. The initial projects you will work on include aquifer classification and rules for generation of Drinking Water Unusually Sensitive Areas (DW USAs) and shoreline classification as part of the Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI) maps we produce for all coastal states and many international areas. We also conduct field studies for restoration, climate change resiliency, long-term monitoring studies, environmental assessments, and oil spill response.

Please visit our Web site at to find out more about RPI, our staff, our recent projects, and clients.
